In a recent press statement released, the DG has given directives to the NCDC body concerning the NYSC orientation exercise for Batch B stream 2 camp date which is close by (19th January 2021). This statement certifies our uncertainty about the camp date and proves that the previously released official date for stream 2 camp still stands.

General Shuaibu who showed his utmost appreciation to the Presidential Task Force team in charge of Corona breakout and NCDC stated that Corpers play very important role for the positive change every citizen of the country are hoping for. He stated that corp members are relevant to the development of both the Education, Health, Political and other vital sectors involved in the Nigeria economy. The Director General mentioned that every important equipment and facilities have been put in place to ensure that prospective corp members adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines/protocols to facilitate the prevention of this dangerous virus in the orientation camp.

Also there will be need for every camp official and PCM to undergo the necessary COVID-19 test which is mandatory for leverage into the orientation camp, not excluding enforcement teams that have been put in place in all the camps to enable individuals comply with all COVID-19 rules and regulations.

During presentation hour at the course of the meeting, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) co-ordinated by Doctor Oyeladun gave accolades to the swift response the NYSC body gave regarding the pandemic, NCDC further illustrated that this action which has been boldly taken will serve as a modus operandi which other various sectors in the country would emulate to improve community development in testing for COVID-19 for the safety of citizens in Nigeria.

They therefore, called for optimal vigilance and compliance in order to maintain the success already achieved. This success will serve as a model for subsequent Batches and Streams to come.
