SEE THE GUIDELINE ON HOW TO AVOID BEING TESTED FOR CORONA IN THE NYSC CAMP

Before i go into details on the basis of this post please kindly note that this post is not in anyway guiding you on how to trick NYSC to believe you don't have the corona virus if truly you have it, the post is written to help those who don't have the corona virus but might be mistaken to have it due to certain COVID-19 related symptoms.

As we are all aware, the long awaited NYSC Call-up letter will be released soon with preparations already been made by prospective corp members to embark on a journey to the respective states they have been deployed to.

Before embarking on the journey, all PCMs should be aware that any prospective corp member that tests positive for the corona virus will not be allowed into the National Youth Service Corp orientation camp. In Fact, such individual will be immediately taken to an isolation center for immediate treatment.

In order for one (Non infected persons) not to fall into the category of those who would be taken to the isolation center, kindly treat yourself of Malaria (If you feel you have malaria) before you go to the NYSC camp. This is because one of the major and common symptom of COVID-19 is the Malaria symptoms which include high body temperature.

This symptoms might sometimes be mistaken for COVID-19. Don't get it twisted, COVID-19 is real and some PCMs will actually carry it to the orientation camp but just do yourself a favour by treating malaria if you feel you have the malaria parasite so as to prevent high body temperature and save yourself from at least one of the criteria for detection of the Corona virus.

NOTE THE BELOW FEW EXTRA POINTS BEFORE TRAVELING TO CAMP.

  • Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) are advised to avoid travelling in the night to the NYSC Orientation Camp. The country as we know it is not in its excellent condition at the moment. CMs that are travelling to far distant locations like; East to North or vice versa can divide their journey into 2 travels. They should avoid embarking on a single long trip that warrants travelling in the middle of the night.
  • PCMs should be very conscious while they are travelling.
  • As stated in one of our previous posts, Covid-19 test will be carried out prior to entry into the various NYSC camps across the federation. Hence, all prospective Corp member should register at the NCDC website. The link for registration to the NCDC website is on the dashboard of every PCM. TEN (10) IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO AFTER ORIENTATION CAMP

As the orientation camp is almost over, you’re now free from the early morning hassle, meditation, and strenuous drills. You are on to another phase of the service. This time it’s not about drills but responsibility and the next line of action for your own future. Here are some things you should do after the orientation camp. - Settle down : In your posting letter, it is indicated where your Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) is and you must have been conveyed by representatives of the different Local Government Areas where you’re posted to the area. The next thing is to settle down.  There are usually four temporary and permanent accommodations provided by religious bodies such as NCCF, NACC, MCAN and the likes. Some local governments also have Corpers Lodge which you can make use of before you proceed to your PPA. For some, these places eventually become their permanent residence for the service year. - Locate your PPA and NYSC Area or Local Office : Don’t carry your bags and travel h
