Reasons Why Most PCMs Might Have Not Received Their NYSC Call-up Number

It is no new information that most Prospecting Corp Members (PCMs) who successfully registered for the just concluded NYSC 2025 Batch B Stream 2 online registration exercise are still seeing the "Awaiting Call-up Number" notification despite after paying for the Call-up/Exclusion letter.

This situation has sparked panic among PCMs with lots of rumours flying around these past few days as the date for printing of call-up letter and orientation camp draws closer.

It can be recalled that some PCMs even had to go to the extent of visiting the NYSC secretariat closest to them to lay complaints about the supposed underlying issue of which most were sent back and told to be patient and wait for their call-up number to be released in due time.

With respect to the above situation on ground, here is what i can tell you is the reason behind why most PCMs are yet to receive their call up number unlike some previous batches before this 2025 Batch B Stream 2.

After much analysis i found out that the number (1) reason that might be behind this awaiting call-up number delay is that the NYSC management might likely not want PCMs to work their direct posting.

I believe we are all aware that the major information needed to process direct posting for a PCM is the call-up number of that particular PCM. Without the call-up number there is no way direct posting can be done. Direct posting is when a PCM works his or her posting to a particular state they like or want.

Hence the NYSC management might be trying to curtail and reduce the rate at which PCMs work their direct posting as it is now rampant in recent times coupled with the number of scams associated with it.

Despite the disadvantage that this may have on posting for most PCMs who wish to work their posting, it will seem like a good measure to decrease the rate of scams associated with direct posting.

The number 2 reason behind the delay in call-up number is that those PCMs who are yet to see theirs will be pushed to 2025 Batch C Stream 1 which commence at a later time this year.

In view of the above, all PCMs still seeing awaiting call-up number are to sit tight and expect the unexpected. What you have to note is that no matter how much the call-up number delays, you will still serve so try to exercise patience.

Kindly note that everything stated on this post is just based on analysis on the ongoing situation and is in no way an information from the NYSC management.

I hope this article was helpful, feel free to drop your questions and comments.

NYSC 2025/2026 Mobilization Update

2025 Batch C Stream 2 will be automatically exempted from the NERD upload requirement , a new development which was announced few months ago. Recall that the Federal Government’s NERD policy was supposed to start on the 6th of October 2025, but the enforcement was put on hold. Later in October 2025, both NERD and NYSC issued circulars confirming that 2025 Batch C (which automatically includes Stream 2) will not be required to obtain the NERD Clearance Slip because their mobilization began before the enforcement date. It was clearly stated in the circular later released that full compliance will only be mandatory for PCMs who are newly mobilized from January/February 2026 onward. See one of the official circulars below: Hence, you don’t need to upload your project to NERD if you will be going with 2025 Batch C Stream 2, although you can still register voluntarily if you want to get ahead of the 2026 requirements. In view of the above, if there is any changes, adjustment or update wit...

TEN (10) IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO AFTER ORIENTATION CAMP

As the orientation camp is almost over, you’re now free from the early morning hassle, meditation, and strenuous drills. You are on to another phase of the service. This time it’s not about drills but responsibility and the next line of action for your own future. Here are some things you should do after the orientation camp. - Settle down : In your posting letter, it is indicated where your Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) is and you must have been conveyed by representatives of the different Local Government Areas where you’re posted to the area. The next thing is to settle down.  There are usually four temporary and permanent accommodations provided by religious bodies such as NCCF, NACC, MCAN and the likes. Some local governments also have Corpers Lodge which you can make use of before you proceed to your PPA. For some, these places eventually become their permanent residence for the service year. - Locate your PPA and NYSC Area or Local Office : Don’t carry your bags and trav...
